Sometimes people don't want to connect to the parts of their heart that bring them overwhelming feelings of pain and hurt so it is easier to stay in the comfort of denial or complacency. It is always a choice that one has to make. I believe that trusting God is the first step, however if you have "issues" on how you perceive God then you need the Holy Spirit to guide you gently to the lie. Identifying the lie is the first process to change. This step is usually the hardest but once you can identify the lie - you can ask someone you trust for the truth. Lift the veil first. Definitely insightful.
